Nanka students union at the residence of Dr. Chike Akunyili (Late. Prof. Dora Akunyili husband). to mark her one year remembrance. Today marks exactly one year that we lost an icon of hope, the late Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili. The president of Nanka students union was accompanied by the vice president and the Onowu of Nanka students union. In the picture is also the first ordained catholic priest in Nanka, Rev. Fr. Prof. Romanus Muoneke. who was among the officiating priest at the church service at Madonna catholic church, AGULU. Nanka students union earlier planned to stage a one year memorial lecture in tagged the LIFE AND TIMES OF PROF.DORA NKEM AKUNYILI WHAT LESSONS FOR POSTERITY, but the husband appealed to the union to allow the family organize the first edition this year while Nanka students union organizes the second edition next year.

The Inaugural memorial lecture comes up on September 4th at Nike Lake, Enugu. Nanka students union has a role to play in that occasion, and before the said date, adequate arrangements would be made. Former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi will deliver the lecture while Senator Anyim Pius Anyim will deliver the key note address.
