Casimir C. Akoh, a Distinguished Research Professor of Food Science and Technology in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, received two awards – a Fellow/WABAB Academician, with his election by the International Society of Biocatalysis and Biotechnology, and the Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Nigeria Alumni and Friends Association, USA.

Nanka students Union President with Prof Dora Akunyili four daughters at the commissioning of Prof Dora Akunyili memorial hospital at Nike lake Enugu on September 4th, 2015.
A lot of important people were at the memorial lecture, including Pete Edochie and Nkem Owoh. Our own Dr. Joe Akabuike, honourable commissioner for health Anambra state represented the Anambra state governor, at the occasion.
The 2015 edition of Dr. Chike Nwankwo football competition for secondary school students in Nanka kicked off today at the Neros sports stadium Nanka. Three matches were billed for today.
In Group B, the match between Ubahu and Amako ended in a walk over, as Amako failed to make appearance in today’s match, thus Ubahu (defending champion) started their title defense on a light note, 3 goals to nil. A minute silence was observed before the commencement of the match for the soul of the late Engr. Chiemerie Ezeilo, former President of ubahu students Union.

The 2015 champion of Dr. Joe AKABUIKE debate competition for secondary school students across the seven villages in Nanka, Umudala, successfully defended the trophy they won last year for two consecutive years.
